F*CLR Records are delighted to present the debut EP, ‘Never Pretend’ from the brilliant Italian producer/remixer, Alfonso Bottone aka ‘Wearing Shoes’. His beautifully dark collection of tracks will satisfy all of you who love their music in minor keys with soaring vocals that have a tinge of melancholy. Alfonso says ‘I made the EP in wintertime during COVID, I wanted to get back to the lush old school house rhythms and vibrations - full of love flavours’. You can hear the deferential nod to the roots of early US House labels such as Strictly Rhythm and NuGroove and the soulful side of Underground Resistance. What’s not to like?

Alfonso was born in Naples in the late 80's and, when not flying as a flight attendant, Alfonso tends to deliver melodic journeys built through improvised jams and exquisite production. Inspired by the emotions in the grooves of artists such as Frankie Knuckles, Roy Ayers, The Ritchie Family, Weather Report, TSOP, Lonnie Liston Smith and Keith Jarrett, Alfonso’s music has a real energy, elegance and a true understanding of the spirit of House Music.
