F*CLR Records presents ‘Variant Issue Volume 3’ – an EP with three ‘guerilla style’ remixes from four very distinguished Scottish remix/ producers – Manakinz (Harri & Max), DJ Huggy and Digital Liquid. Their alternative take on Joseph Malik’s tracks, taken from his ‘Diverse Part 3’ album on Ramrock Red Records, gives you, the listener, an opportunity to take a musical diversion without leaving the comfort of your own headphones.

Manakinz and DJ Huggy both tackle ‘I Quit My 9 to 5’ with Joseph and Niki King on vocal duties. DJ Huggy’s version only just made it onto the EP as the original premaster got lost when his PC crashed and only the MP3 remained. Hats off to Darren Morris for rescuing the track and doing some skilful mastering. Digital Liquid takes a very dark and much tougher stance with his rework of ‘Battle Cry’ featuring Capitol A. I can hear this being played extensively in Berlin. There’s something for everyone on this EP.
